All about Art Deco !

Art Deco was founded by various French artists. The purpose of their organization was to introduce French decorative arts in front of the world. Most popular artists of Art deco organization include Hector Guimard, Paul Bellot and Emile Decoeur. In fact, the major principles of Art Deco were established by these French artists. In 1969, an exhibition was arranged at Minneapolis Institute of Arts. The purpose of this exhibition was to inform people about the new decorative arts of France and Europe. The exhibition started in June and ended in September 1971. A record of this exhibition was a book with the name “The World of Art Deco”. fonts and layout.

 

Typical materials used by art deco designers included aluminum, lacquer, stainless steel, and inlaid wood. Since Art Deco influenced almost each and every walk of life, one can easily determine Art Deco in ladies’ shoes, building spires, car radiator grills and in a number of other things. Other typical materials used in art deco history were zebra skin and sharkskin. Various sweeping curves and chevron patterns are very common in art deco fashion.

Streamline Moderne was a similar organization/movement like Art Deco. It was also started during 1900s and it had a great influence in Art Deco fashion. Streamline Moderne or simply Streamline was a movement with the aim of creating aerodynamic shapes and designs. The core purpose of the movement/organization was to speed up physical objects like vehicles, aero planes and ballistics. Due to highly attractive designs and curves, various aesthetics were also adopted by Art Deco. From that time, art deco make up includes a number of Streamline approaches. These designs and shapes were mostly used in automobiles.

There are a number of countries hosting Art Deco design and fashion in their buildings, architecture and overall art. For example, Florida hosts a number of buildings designed on the pattern and approaches of Art Deco. Similarly, there are a number of buildings in California which are designed by art deco artsist and designers. Besides America, New Zealand, India and Indonesia also have a number of Art Deco buildings and architectural designs.
